When I allow myself to shed tears of longing rather than despair, I connect to an unbreakable hope and insist on a vision of rebuilding for myself and the entire world.

As we approach Tisha B'Av, a day devoid of regular Torah study, I am invited to sit in this uncomfortable silence rather than looking for distractions. By peeling away the noise and choosing to be present in the quiet, I am given the profound opportunity to meet Hashem for a second time, uncovering a deep, non-verbal connection that can sustain me through the darkest of times.

When I close my eyes in the midst of my personal pain and shut out the immediate distractions, I am able to focus on a vision of wholeness that feels impossibly far away. By giving myself permission to truly miss the Beit Hamikdash—the ultimate place of feeling completely seen—I connect to the deeper reality of Hashem's presence and carry a glimmer of that dawn back into my everyday life.

By choosing to see the "shining eyes" of potential in others rather than judging their current failures, I can transform my repetitive practices and long journeys into a living, breathing love letter to Hashem.
